Meet the Team

Dr. Rachel Bouton and Dr. Regina Proutsos have been co-owners of Outback Animal Clinic since June of 2018. We genuinely care about the health, happiness, and well-being of your pets. Our vision for this practice is to provide compassionate, knowledgeable, and quality veterinary medicine and surgery for our patients.

Dr. Regina Proutsos

Veterinarian

Dr. Proutsos has always loved animals and knew from the age of 12 that she wanted to work with them.

She believes that dogs are her soul animal and dedicating her life to her understanding of animal healthcare, medicine, and education was a no brainer. No two days are ever the same for her when working with your pets and she treats each of them as an individual. You can ensure that your pets are getting the adequate care that they require while on their visit.

She believes in her team and knows that every one of the staff members work hard, are knowledgeable, and operate efficiently to see that your visits are as pleasant and meet all of your pet’s needs. She enjoys working with pet parents and has seen many pets since they were kittens and puppies and through their entire lives.

Dr. Rachel Bouton

Veterinarian

What she does here: Dr. Rachel decided to become a vet as a youngster when she made her first visit to a veterinary clinic. After graduating from Louisiana State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, she relocated to Lakeland, where she worked at several clinics before joining Outback Animal Clinic in 2018. While Dr. Rachel has always cared for animals that are injured or sick, she also realizes the importance of educating clients about their pets’ health and happiness. Dr. Rachel is excited to be at Outback, because she has a solid,reliable veterinary partner in Dr. Proutsos, as well as an amazing team of individuals who genuinley care for animals. She is also grateful for the opportunity to meet new clients and their fur babies!

Meet her pets: Outside the office, Dr Rachel is mom to Conway, a mixed breed she adopted from a local rescue after he was taken in by Polk County Animal Services. He is a kleptomaniac and constantly steals things that don’t belong to him. Dr. Rachel loves him anyway! 

Rhonda

Office Manager

What she does here: Rhonda is the office manager at Outback where she has dedicated over 20 years to ensure a smooth daily operation and exceptional client and patient care. She has a deep passion for animals and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. 

Meet her pets: At home she is a proud pet parent to three dogs and one cat further fueling her devotion to the well-being of all animals.

Tara

Veterinary Technician/Client Liaison

What she does here: Tara is a dedicated veterinary technician with two decades of experience in her field. Since earning her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2010,Tara has built a well-rounded career spanning general practice, shelter medicine, and academic settings. Her passion for animal health and education has made her a valued contributor in every role she has held.

Meet her pets: Outside of work, Tara enjoys life with her dog, Peggy, and her cat, Poppycat.

Amy

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: Amy assists in exam rooms and in surgery. She works in conjunction with other technicians and the veterinarians to assist you during your visit. Amy has always loved caring for animals. She enjoys nothing more than caring for your pet when they are unwell and making sure they go home feeling better.

Meet her pets: Dally, Lolo, and Ruger are her canine companions. She has five cats, Davie, Jerry, Gina, Pirate and Stitch.

Tori

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: Assists in taking your pet’s x-rays, blood work, and aids the veterinarian during their surgery. Tori loves helping animals and couldn’t imagine doing anything else with her time. She plans to work around animals for the rest of her life.

Meet her pets: Hobo the wired haired dachshund mix, Huk the chocolate lab, and Oggie-Boogie her cat.

Kimmie

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: Kimmie has been dedicated to the veterinary field since 2012, bringing over a decade of hand- on experience and compassionate care to every patient she meets. As a skilled veterinary technician, she is passionate about animal wellness and making each visit as stress-free as possible for pets and their families.

Meet her pets: At home, Kimmie is a proud pet parent of two playful cats, Gage and Hemi, and two lovable dogs, Kai and Reef. Whether she is at the clinic or spending time with her own furry crew, her love for animals shines through in everything she does.

Courtney

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: With over 15 years of experience Courtney has always had a soft spot for the behavior side of things- especially working with fearful or aggressive dogs.

Meet her pets: I share my life with my husband, a German Shepherd and a Border Collie, and we spend a lot of time competing in dog sports together. I love building trust with the tougher cases and helping them feel more comfortable during their visits.

Victoria

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: As a veterinarian technician on a mission to make a difference in the lives of our furry companions. She assists in routine check- ups to helping in emergency situations, she is here to support their health and happiness

Meet her pets: At home she has Toby the corgi mix, Lacy the beagle and a chihuahua named Piper, along with four cats Pickles, Boo berry, Sushi, and Marshmallow.

Monique

Veterinary Technician

What she does here: Monique is currently training to become a veterinary technician and brings hands-on experience from her time working in the kennels. Her passion for animal care, combined with her dedication to learning, makes her a compassionate and reliable part of the team. She is especially skilled at helping pets feel calm and comfortable during their visits.

Meet her pets: At home, Monique is a proud pet parent of two playful black cats, Charlie and Toulouse, and her loyal dog Ren. Whether she is assisting in the clinic or spending time with her furry trio, Monique is always focused on giving animals the love an attention they deserve.

Emily

Groomer

What she does here: Makes your pets beautiful and feel great about themselves. Emily loves working around animals and attended grooming school so that she could spend all of her time around them. When your pet is ready for their spa day, Emily will take care of them.

Meet her pets: Two loving and attention seeking pitties named Gemma and Sky-bert. Luffy her fun loving small, mixed breed and two cats, Oliver and Dexter.

Morgan

Kennel Technician

What she does here: Morgan is a dedicated kennel technician with a passion for animal care and a deep love for creatures, big and small. She takes pride in creating a safe, clean, and comforting environment for every pet that comes through our doors. With hands-on experience and a gentle approach, she treats every animal like they are her own.

Meet her pets: When not at work, she is spending time with her cat, Piper, who keeps her on her toes and reminds her why she does what she does every day.

Amber

Kennel Technician

What she does here: Amber is one of our Kennel Technicians here at Outback. She joined the family in 2023 and has been helping keep our furry friends fed, safe and loved since then.

Angelia

Receptionist

What she does here: With a passion for animals and over two decades of experience, I’ve proudly worked in veterinary care since 1999. As a dedicated veterinary receptionist, I strive to provide compassionate support to both pets and their people, helping ensure every visit runs smoothly and warmly.

Meet her pets: At home, I’m surrounded by a small, lively menagerie- four affectionate cats and two curious chickens- who keep life interesting and full of joy. Whether it’s answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, or offering a friendly smile at the front desk, I’m committed to making each client feel welcomed and each patient feel safe.

Brandi

Receptionist

What she does here: Brandi has been a veterinary receptionist for five years and is known for her friendly smile, attention to detail, and deep compassion for animals and their owners. With a strong background in client service and a love for veterinary care, she helps keep the front desk running smoothly while making every visitor feel welcome.

Meet her pets: Outside of work, Brandi enjoys spending time with her cat, Piper who rules the house with charm and attitude. Whether scheduling appointments or sharing a laugh with pet parents, Brandi is always happy to support the well-being of every furry family member.

Hannah

Receptionist

What she does here: Hannah began her journey in veterinary care as a receptionist, where she quickly became known for her friendly attitude and commitment to client service. Her passion for animals led her to gain hands-on experience in the kennels, further strengthening her skills and understanding of animal care. Now training to become a veterinary technician , Hannah is excited to continue growing in the field she loves. Her calm, friendly demeanor and dedication to animal health make her a vital part of the team.

Meet her pets: At home, she enjoys relaxing with her spirited orange cat, Cheddar, who never fails to keep life interesting. Whether at the front desk or assisting behind the scenes, Hannah is committed to providing compassionate care every step of the way.

Kim

Receptionist

What she does here: Kim has been a dedicated veterinary receptionist since 1999,bringing decades of experience and a warm, welcoming presence to every client interaction. Her deep knowledge of veterinary practice operations and her genuine love for animals make her a trusted and familiar face to both long-time clients and new visitors alike.

Meet her pets: At home, Kim shared her life with one energetic and lovable dog Booger. Her passion for animals shines through in everything she does, and she takes pride in helping pets and their people feel supported and cared for.

Pam

Receptionist

What she does here: Pam has been the welcoming face at the front desk since 2001, bringing over two decades of experience in veterinary customer service. Her calm demeanor, organizational skills, and genuine love for animals make her a trusted point of contact for both clients and their pets. 

Meet her pets: When she is not assisting pet owners or coordinating appointments, Pam enjoys spending time with her beloved feline family- she shares her home with seven cats who keep her entertained and covered in fur. Her dedication to animals shines through in every interaction, making her an invaluable part of the team.
